Personal profile

Research interests

My PhD research investigates meaningful interaction with artwork in virtual reality (VR) and actual reality. The research will use state of the art equipment, including a virtual reality headset with integrated eye trackers, and mobile eye trackers, both of which have the capacity to record micro eye-movements. Actual reality and VR will be directly compared, with some manipulations in the virtual environment such as the lighting, framing, background colours and textures, and locations of the art.

Educational background

I completed my BSc in Psychology, Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience at Royal Holloway University of London (2016-2019).

During my second year I was research assistant to Dr Michael Evangeli, a clinical psychologist specialising in health psychology and mental health. I assisted in the analysis of data and subsequent drafting of the research into an article. My role also included aiding a clinical doctorate student to complete a systematic review by acting as second reviewer.

My final year research project was completed under the supervision of Professor Johannes Zanker, and investigated eye movement behaviour when navigating stairs, a location where injuries often occur.

Teaching

I am currently a workshop demonstrator on the first year course PS1010: Introduction to Psychological Research. I am also completing my inSTIL (Programme in Skills of Teaching to Inspire Learning) training to support my teaching.
