Research interests

Lucia is a PhD candidate investigating post-Brexit security cooperation between the EU and UK with regards to threats posed by non-state entities. Her work focuses in particular on intelligence and sanctions cooperation.

Lucia holds a MA in Law at the University of Trento (Italy), during which she studied humanitarian law at Queen’s University of Belfast (UK ) and international security at Carleton University (Canada). Having a legal background and an international security studies perspective, her research sits at the intersection between international security, European political dynamics, and EU Law.  For this reason, she is co-supervised by Dr. Tom Dyson (PIRP) and Dr. Foivi Mouzakiti (Law and Criminology).

Her interests also include transatlantic security cooperation, European security and defence policy, and terrorism studies.
