Dr Ling Eleanor Zhang

Ling Eleanor Zhang is a tenure-track Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Business. She received her PhD from Hanken School of Economics (Helsinki, Finland) in August 2015. A key focus of Ling’s research is interaction across boundaries, which is manifested in various research settings, such as boundary spanning of multicultural employees, social categorisation and conflict management between expatriates and host country employees, and human resource practices at MNC subsidiaries abroad. 

Before joining Royal Holloway, Ling worked as a Fellow at King’s College London (London, UK). She has also spent time in a number of other universities, such as Peking University, University of Helsinki, Birkbeck, University of London, ESCP (École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris) Business School, and CUNEF (Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros, Universidad Complutense de Madrid) Spain.

Research interests: Expatriate management, social and cultural identity, language in International Business, biculturalism, cosmopolitanism, global identity, transnational workers, gender
