Personal profile

Personal profile

I am a PhD student interested in critical geopolitics, the Arctic, and popular culture. Prior to my PhD study, I have completed bachelor's degree in International Politics at Xi'an International Studies University (2010-2014) and master's degree in International Relations at Tongji University (2016-2019).

Research interests

My PhD project titled “China’s Geopolitical Imaginations of the Arctic”, is mainly situated in critical geopolitics and informed by an array of scholarship in popular, feminist, material and tourism geopolitics. This research aims to explore the multi-faceted and multi-scalar connections/ruptures between China and the Arctic by interrogating China’s geopolitical imaginations, framings, and practices in the Arctic in three intersected levels: state policies and academia, popular culture, and everyday Chinese life.

My PhD project is funded by China Government Scholarship and the Science Excellence Scholarship. I have been awarded “Outstanding Graduate of Xi'an International Studies University” (2014), “National Scholarship” (2017), “Outstanding Graduate of Shanghai” (2019), etc.
