I hold a PhD in Comparative Literature, funded by a Reid Scholarship, from Royal Holloway, University of London. I completed a BA in European Literature and Cultural Studies (First Class) at Royal Holloway in 2012, and was awarded the Martin Holloway prize for 'the best student in the Arts and Social Sciences Faculty, with regard to academic and intellectual distinction'. On reciept of a full fee waiver award I stayed at Royal Holloway to complete a Masters by Research in Comparative Literature, for which I was awarded a Distinction.
My research considers the literary contributions of women who took part in the various movements of the historical avant-garde, with an emphasis on close reading as form of cultural reinscription, questions of literary form, and the challenges (and rewards) of poetic expression.
My wider research interests lie in the relationships between literature and visual cultures, and modernism, the avant-garde, and feminism.
