Research interests

My research lies in the intersection of artificial intelligence, distributed systems, and software engineering, with the aim of developing autonomous systems with cognitive and social abilities. My research interests include:

  • Models of cognitive & autonomous agents;
  • Knowledge representation and cognition;
  • Games as a metaphor for strategic interaction with the environment;
  • Learning strategies for game-theoretic agents;
  • Organisation and regulation in artificial agent societies;
  • Programmable multi-agent environments and platforms.

The work is being applied in applications such as E-Health, E-Markets, Law and regulation, E-Services, Ambient Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Computer Games.
