Kate studied her undergraduate degree in English Literature and Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, in which she earned a first-class degree, and received the Phillippa Hicks Memorial Prize for innovation and originality upon completion. Kate then graduated from Royal Holloway with a Distinction in MA English, with her dissertation being on objects, things, and relics in the plays of Howard Barker. Kate completed her PhD on animals in Ulysses and Finnegans Wake at Royal Holloway in 2022. 

Research interests

Kate's doctoral thesis considers representations of animals in James Joyce's Ulysses and Finnegans Wake.

Kate's research interests include: Modernist Literature, James Joyce, Object-Orientated Ontology, and Animal Studies
