Personal profile

Kate Leonard is a Senior Lecturer at Royal Holloway. She is based at 11 Bedford Square WC1.  She has extensive experience as a social work academic and practitioner. She is a registered social worker with considerable experience of supervising staff and students and working as a Children's Guardian. Until recently she was the Course Director for the MA Practice Education at London South Bank University, an interprofessional course for health and social work staff. She has published in the areas of interprofessional learning and teaching, using the arts and working with service users to provide creative learning opportunties and the use of direct observation as a method of assessment in education and social work practice. She has co-authored a book entitled Leadership and Management in Social Care. Her current research interests include critical reflection,  supervision and decision-making in children and families social work, service user involvement and applying arts based methods to learning in health and social work.
