Dr Julie Gawrylowicz

Personal profile

My research interests lie in the area of cognitive and social psychology, both theoretical and applied, encompassing research regarding memory, face recognition and meta-cognition. My research experience to date involves projects with an applied focus, specifically related to eyewitness memory and investigative interviewing. During my doctoral studies, I have worked with people with learning disabilities and examined their face recognition and description skills in forensic settings. During my postdoctoral work, I am investigating memory and meta-cognition in older adults. The research aims to develop procedures to maximise the accuracy of witness statements in senior citizens. As a Postdoctoral Teaching Associate, I am teaching on the Self and Society, Cognitive Psychology, The Aging Brain, and Research Methods and Statistics modules.
