Research interests

I am passionate and dedicated individual with a long standing interest in applied systems thinking.

My first degree is in computer science and systems engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.  Prior to my studies in the UK and becoming an academic I worked as a software developer and project analyst in the Colombian financial sector, and also had a family business with my two brothers.

During my time in industry and as an academic, I have been interested in studying complex or messy situations.

I am the founder of the Technology and Governance Network (TGN) , an interdisciplinary and international group that researches on emancipatory ways to bring about technology to people in different areas including health, education and other public services.

Currently I am studying the following topics:

  • Creativity as a systemic phenomenon in management education.
  • Relationships between mental health, employability and the use of electronic government job search engines.
  • Digital services in post-conflict areas in Colombia.
