Research interests

My research overall converges on one main question. Can we say, in theatrical practices of the last decades, we have developed a tendency of using objects and materials as the main medium of creation? If so, what has cultivated the propensity? Is it because there are growing needs in our psychic plane for the organic body being fixed to, or extended by, inorganic matters to quell the agitation that is caused by over-stimulating environments and unstable relationships in the era of flux? Can one argue that the phenomenon is a defensive system of homeostasis realised both in physical and cultural domains? In search of answers, I turn to psychoanalysis, vis in Marion Milner's words: "man is not born to discern objects and body."
