Dr Isabella Chaney

Personal profile

My research interests are focussed on three areas of Marketing: International Marketing, Wine Marketing and Luxury Brand Marketing. In terms of International Marketing my research has been centred on (1) exporting activities of smaller sized companies, (2) the role of interfirm networks on internationalisation, and (3) consumer perceptions of international retailers in China. Wine marketing research undertaken has investigated communication strategies throughout the distribution chain and identified the role that opinion leaders play in disseminating vital information. From 1998 to 2003 I held the position of Executive Editor for the Journal of Wine Research and continued as member of Editorial Board for a further three years. Current pedagogic research focuses on (1) employed students: the influence of work on the learning experience and (2) transition to university for non-traditional students.
