Personal profile

Ian joined HRMOS September 2022 as a visiting lecturer, and is currently teaching the undergraduate modules ‘Interpreting management’, ‘Organisational studies’ and ‘Diversity management’.

Ian completed his ESRC-funded PhD on class and career progression in architecture in January 2022. Ian is a sociologist, whose research interests include social mobility, careers and the future of work, diversity management and the sociology of the professions.

Prior to his academic career, Ian was a research manager within government (The Cabinet Office and Central Office of Information), and market research agencies, including MORI and BMRB International.

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
