Research interests

My PhD research explores the representation of the hysterical dancing body on the ballet stage in mid-nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Paris. My thesis charts a cultural history of balletic performance and hysteria from Romantic ballet to the Ballets Russes and the Ballets Suédois. This interdisciplinary study unites a variety of research interests including intermediality, gender, the historical Avant-Garde and the Medical Humanities.
