I am a Professor of Mathematical Biology at the School of Biological Sciences, Royal Holloway, University of London.

I work on the evolution of genomic and social structures driven by conflict. Intragenomic conflict provides a unique way to understand the evolution of molecular mechanism that might be detrimental to the individual. This conflict often results in diseases. Similarly, individual conflict allows us to understand the evolution of social manifestations deemed not beneficial for a society.

Through mathematical models, I formulate evolutionary theory and interpret biological data. I endeavor to provide specific predictions that allow empirical testing of evolutionary theories. My work applies to a wide range of biological systems; I am particularly interested in humans and medical implications.
