Personal profile

My PhD topic is an investigation of the ways in which William Blake and Philip K. Dick create new types and ideas of world as a means of accessing alternative ways of thinking about modern social, historical and metaphysical existence. As part of this, I am exploring the relationship between Science Fiction and Romanticism, as well as shared fields of influence and speculation such as mysticism, political radicalism, technological discourses and philosophy.

In addition to my thesis topic, I am also interested in Science Fiction, Romanticism, experimental poetry, the temporality of ecocatastrophe, capitalist reality, tabletop gaming (especially RPGs & Magic: The Gathering), fuel cultures & the Energy Humanities, William S. Burroughs, the Weird and Walter Benjamin.
