Dr Foivi Mouzakiti joined Royal Holloway as a Lecturer in Law in September 2019. Previously, she taught EU law at Queen Mary, University of London, and she delivered guest lectures on the postgraduate modules of the Law of Financial Crime (2019) and EU Criminal Law (2020). She has also worked as a teaching associate at the London School of Economics and as a part-time research associate at Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London.

Foivi obtained her LL.B at the University of Athens and also holds an LL.M from University College London (UCL) and a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London. Foivi is a member of the European Criminal Law Academic Network (ECLAN)

Her research interests lie in the field of European human rights law, primarily privacy and data protection, and their interaction with legal responses to financial crime. She is currently working on a monograph, entitled Financial Surveillance, Privacy and Data Protection: the Case of Financial Intelligence Units, which will be published by Hart and examines the impact of financial surveillance on the rights to privacy and data protection.

Teaching

Foivi is the module convenor for the Law of Financial Crime (LL3015), teaches on EU law (LL2007 and LL3001), Tort Law (LL2002) and supervises undergraduate dissertations (LL3003).
