Research interests

My PhD thesis is concerned with researching the ways in which female paedophiles are presented and understood as a concept in UK culture. This is a qualitative case study looking at how language and gender schema theory can be used to explain the disbelief that many still have in regards to women being paedophiles, and how this further isolates victims (particularly male victims) and makes it difficult for them to get the help that they need.
