Adaptive Music for games, and apps on mobile devices.  Compositional strategies for adaptive music, particularly where the length and tempo of the works are not fixed.

"Advances in computational power are constantly expanding the possibilities for audio processing. It is now possible to run processes on a mobile device in real time that were previously limited to heavyweight computers, and mobile apps that respond to your body and environment are on the increase. Music for these apps will be in high demand. For example, music to calm you that matches the timing of your heartbeat, or a fitness app that adjusts the tempo of the music to the footfalls of your walking or running pace. But how do we write meaningful music that has no fixed tempo or length? "
