Research interests

My research explores the use of the long take in modern European cinema, with emphasis on filmmakers such as Michelangelo Antonioni, Andrei Tarkovsky and Miklos Jancso. The thesis analyses the long-take practice of these and other filmmakers in the light of theoretical debates around cinematic realism, temporality and narrative.

Conference Papers

'Space, Movement and Politics in the Long Take Cinema of Miklos Jancso', London Film and Media Conference 2012. Institute of Education, 22-24 June 2012.

I have taught undergraduate students on a range of subjects in film history and theory, focusing mainly on European and American cinema.
