Research interests

My PhD explored how gesture can be used support language. More specifically, the project looked at how children with developmental lanugage disorder (DLD) and their parents use gesture naturally when communicating at home.

My research questions are:

  1. Is parental gesture use associated with gesture and language abilities in children with DLD?
  2. Does gesture help children learn new words?
  3. What are the relationships between language and  gesture in children with DLD?
