Professor Carlos Cid

Personal profile

I received my PhD in Mathematics from the University of Brasilia, Brazil in 1999. After working for a short period as lecturer in Brazil, I spent a year as postdoctoral researcher at RWTH-Aachen, Germany. Between 2001 and 2003 I worked as software engineer for an Irish network security start-up, where I was involved in the design and development of hardware security modules and network security appliances.I joined the Information Security Group at Royal Holloway in October 2003, and am currently the Director of Royal Holloway's Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber Security

Research interests

My main current academic interests are: cryptology (symmetric-key and post-quantum cryptography), and cyber economics.
