My research interests focus broadly on understanding the links and interactions between conservation and sustainable development. Exploring, for example, the impact that targeted conservation action may have on human livelihoods as well as on the ecosystem or species targeted. Also to understand the effect of human pressures such as hunting and logging on the density and behaviour of different species.
More specifically my PhD focuses on the effect of hunting pressures on primate species behaviour, with the hope to understand to what extent this may vary and the consequences these behavioural changes may have on estimations of hunting sustainability and on how species are categorized under international conventions.
