My research focuses on values and motivational goals at an early age and is thus located at the intersection of developmental psychology, personality psychology, and psychological assessment. I am exploring how children’s and adolescents’ values are taking shape in a social and cultural context, and how they in turn cause change in the world. While my PhD project was centred around developing a new assessment tool – the Picture-Based Value Survey for Children (PBVS-C), which has been adapted for application in 13 countries around the world – I am now primarily interested in the dynamic processes of value change, as initiated for example through education, life experiences, and parent-child value transmission.
