My doctoral research, funded through a CASE ESRC studentship, examines health literacy, where the focus is to understand individual's contexts for health and to support the use and co-development of relevant health information to promote and maintain good health. In addition to my PhD role, I am also completing my Stage 2 training in Health Psychology at the University of Surrey where completion confers eligibility for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registration as a Health Psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). I also provide support for the Health in the Justice System team at NHS England (London region) and the Analytical Services Team at the Ministry of Justice. I have previously worked as a researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry (KCL) and at various third sector organisations covering a range of topics including heart disease and depression management in primary care, health literacy in primary care, lifetime risk of cancer in Black minority groups and general wellbeing in cancer patients.
