Personal profile

Angeliki Kitrini Tsanikidou is a practice-based PhD candidate in Playwriting at the Department of Drama and Theatre, Royal Holloway University of London. As an undergraduate, Angeliki studied English Language and Literature, with a concentration in drama, at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Upon graduation, she trained, performed and devised for the theatre for six years. She also worked as an assistant director and co-director for the National Theatre of Northern Greece.

In 2012 she came to the UK to begin her MA study in Playwriting at Royal

Holloway University of London. She won a Research Award for her full-length dissertation play and graduated with Distinction.


Research interests

Angeliki's current research is focused on media, performative and literary narratives of forced migration in the Mediterranean area —the way these narratives interact and the tropes they employ in representing the figure of the refugee and the forced migrant.
