Research interests

My research interests range from philosophy and aesthetics to analysis and music history of the nineteenth and early twentieth century. My main focus is the interdisciplinary approach to Spanish music of the fin de siècle and how this approach can help revaluate concepts and modes of listening. I am interested in nationalisms and modernisms as well as how literature and art can have significance impact on the way we perceive music. My current thesis explores the many intricacies of the Spanish turn of the century via the re-examination of Felipe Pedrell as a key cultural figure.
