Organisation profile

The Vision Research Group conducts research on fundamental aspects of human vision. The main emphasis is on psychophysical investigations (particularly studies of motion perception), brain imaging studies (fMRI) and eye movement research. Excellent facilities exist for all these lines of research, including a research-dedicated 3T MR scanner. The Group's work includes studies of both the healthy human visual system and vision in individuals with disease or damage to the visual system. The Group has substantial current research funding from several external funding bodies including The European Commission (EC), The Wellcome Trust, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Leverhulme Trust.
