Wellcome Oral History of Medicine Residential Programme 2013

Activity: Participating in or organising an eventParticipation in conference

Description

First presented in 1990, the five-day residential has become a well established feature in oral history as well as the history of medicine and health policy in Britain. It remains the only course of its kind in the UK in an expanding area of academic study.

The course makes a significant contribution to preparing researchers in their own diverse projects; projects that draw upon a range of lay and professional recollections of experiences, health policies and medical practices.

This year’s course will take place between Monday 2, September 2013 and concluding Friday 6, September 2013 at Royal Holloway, University of London located near Egham.

Please also note that it is part of our agreement with Wellcome that participants conduct an interview as part of the course and that interview will be archived in the British Library Sound Archive.

I assisted in organizing this event and providing administrative support during the conference. I was also an attendee of the programme.
