The Challenge of Inclusion - Empowering South America

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

As I was born in Brazil, I am very interested in seeing South America as the next super economical powerful region of the world. No doubt that this is possible with some relevant political reforms in countries such as Brazil and Argentina. Both nations are the most predominant economies in South America, and this is not something new for the world economy. Argentina was a powerful economy over a 100 years ago, and can certainly become a powerful economy again. In order for this to happen, no doubt some important political reforms must happen within this decade. Brazil is under a severe political challenge at the moment, and in a way tis is good for the region to demonstrate that reforms is already happening in the country. The meaning of democracy in Brazil is changing and changing for better. The lessons from Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay can certainly be beneficial for the development and empowerment of South America. Therefore, I am happy to give a talk around this topic.
