Space in the City: Arts, Architecture and Engagement

  • Kristen Kreider (Participant)

Activity: OtherPublic engagement, outreach and knowledge exchange - Public Lecture/debate/seminar

Description

In conjunction with the London Festival of Architecture ROKEBY gallery hosts a panel discussion concerning the relationship between the arts, architecture and engagement. The panel consists of The Office of Subversive Architecture, FAT architecture, Sophie Hope and Unnameable.org. Chaired by Mark Rappolt, editor of Artreview.

How are artists and architects seeking to engage in and challenge the realities of public space in the city? And how are these collaborations informing each other, as part of a larger move towards intermedia practice within the arts?

In response to the expanding dialogue of spatially aware practice within an urban environment, this discussion brings together a panel of artists, curators and architects whose approach to space within the city actively challenges it on political, sociological, and critical levels of participation.
