Description

As part of the 2011 Native American Film and Video Festival hosted at the National Museum of the American Indian in New York, I conducted three interviews with Indigenous filmmakers from the Latin America region: Juliana Julujuj (Kaqchikel Maya, Guatemala), Geodiel Chindicue (Nasa, Colombia), and Amado Villafana (Arhuaco, Colombia). I also coordinated and transcribed another two interviews with Nicolas Ipamo (Chiquitano, Bolivia) and Eriberto Gualinga (Sarayaku Kichwa, Ecuador). The transcriptions have now been edited and extracts and clips of the filmed interviews will be made available on the Native Networks website:
