This is a long-running research seminar dedicated to research on recent and contemporary innovative poetry. Its focus is largely on English-language poetry - and predominantly British and North American poetry of the 'other tradition' - with its roots in Pound, H.D., Gertrude Stein. It is also open to the contemporary poetry that has developed out of the European tradition of dada and surrealism that manifests in sound, concrete, visual and performative poetics. It replaced a previous long-running seminar series, 'Talks', originally set up as a cross-arts forum by Bob Perelman in 1996-97, which I ran from 1998 for several years.
