Alice Milner - Organiser

This workshop aimed to examine the mechanisms that identify risks to animal and plant health and develop approaches aimed at treating future strategic risk.

The workshop was part of a series for the Animal and Plant in the UK project and contributed to the "Animal and Plant Health in the UK: Building our Science Capability" report published by the Government Office for Science (2014). The report sets out the findings of a study to determine how the UK can improve its capability in animal and plant health science over the next 10 to 15 years. The study was undertaken by the Government Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir Mark Walport, and Defra’s Chief Scientific Adviser, Professor Ian Boyd. It was guided by a steering group of experts from the UK government, the devolved administrations, the research councils, industry and academia.
