Theorists of the Postmodern, Global, and Digital City

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The late twentieth and early twenty first centuries have been characterised by an entrenchment of power within cities, and an unparalleled monetisation of their reputations and features as a result of accelerated tourism; but they have also brought a series of paradigms for interpreting the city that go as far as questioning its very existence. In this chapter, I consider the city as it has been analysed in light of postmodernism, globalisation and the advent of digital culture.
