Abstract

The core of the work are 1,885 notices each devoted to one of the operas or ballets given at this theatre until its cessation as a repertory company. These notices comprise multiple layers of information about the works: title, genre, date of premiere, details of librettos and scores, sources of information, translations, bibliography, and duration of performance run. Multiple indexes enable readers to search by authors, composers, titles and secondary titles. Dual-language French-English introductions by the authors are followed by a chronological list of premieres, including works originally premiered elsewhere.
