Abstract
Invited presentation and performance about cricket balls, bowling, ‘tampering’. The presentation touches on education, ‘knowledge’ and suppressed virtuosity, sport and dis/simulation, techniques for cheating and for peopling loneliness. Using a 40 year-old Wisden entry as score, the performance restages actions from the summer of 1975, and a childhood of balls.
