Abstract
The 'victory image' has been established as an operational goal for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and the pursuit of it has framed war fighting in Lebanon and Gaza. This essay explores the changing use of the concept and the ways in which it has influenced Israeli military operations in Gaza.
