Abstract
This is a review article written in response to Luke Roberts's recent book on poetry in Britain, 1945-1979. It considers the topics raised by the chapters in the book: Kamau Brathwaite in England, 1960-65; J.H. Prynne, Charles Olson and Ed Dorn; exiled poets in England during the 1960s and 1970s; homosexuality and the British Poetry Revival; feminism; Black poets and racism; anti-carceral poetics; and Anna Mendellsohn. It offers an observer-participant perspective.
