Abstract

This chapter opens with a brief discussion of gendered social structures and how they might be mapped onto war(s). The second section discusses the gendered structures and impacts of ‘everyday’ violence in the making and fighting of wars. I then discuss gender-based violence, sex-specific targeting, and women’s violence, and conclude by considering some of the implications of gender-based violence during war for the ways we think about both war and post war justice.
