Abstract
Formations is a 9-minute work for a mixed ensemble of 15 players, commissioned by the London Sinfonietta to mark their 50th anniversary.
Formations was premiered by the London Sinfonietta in January 2018 at The Royal Festival Hall, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. This performance was broadcast on the Hear and Now programme on BBC Radio 3 along with an interview about the piece. In February 2019 Formations was performed with choreography by Kristin McNally of the Royal Ballet in the Linbury Studio, ROH as part of an evening of new dance. In February 2020, Ensemble 10:10 gave a subsequent performance of Formations in Liverpool, conducted by Duncan Ward.
