Abstract

In the dynamic realm of Clinical Psychology training, where the pursuit of knowledge and healing converges, our profession stands at a crucial juncture. Powerful voices of psychologists and trainees from the global majority have reminded us for over 30 years, and in the more recent past, that there are intricate challenges woven into the fabric of our discipline. This edition of Clinical Psychology Forum aims to bring together some of those powerful voices, recognising the urgent need for racial equity, cultural change, and the dismantling of systemic prejudices. The time has come for bold introspection and collective action, to ensure equity of access to clinical psychology services and better support for the communities we serve.

The papers included in this edition fall roughly into two categories: there are papers about ‘being’ antiracist, being active and being from the global majority in our profession. The other papers focus on ‘doing’; projects and initiatives that aim to reduce inequality, increase equity and clarify barriers and facilitators to equity. We thank all authors for their thoughtful contributions and recognise the importance of the Antiracism subgroup of the Group of Trainers in Clinical Psychology as the catalyst for the production of this special edition.
