Abstract
This is a sequence of 19 experimental odes, offering a documentation of 2020 through multi-perspectival, disjunctive 'public voice' poems. The sequence explores the experience of lockdown through the evocation of a series of enclosed spaces - a bunker, a submarine, a space-station, a colony on Mars - suggesting parallels between these and our daily domestic spaces, while also registering the necessarily mediated experiences produced by lockdown and the corresponding reliance on technologies of video-conferencing, emails, social media. The book is accompanied by a CD, which includes a reading of the entire sequence punctuated by Joanna Levy's ;Suite 1 for Solo Cello'.
