Description
My current work advances a multi-scalar understanding of ‘twin displacement’, a concept I introduce to analyse the simultaneous exclusion of deindustrialised local communities and precariously employed migrant workers. Building on this agenda, I am Principal Investigator for a large ESRC grant application (£685,000), project title: ‘The New Age of Work and Twin Displacement: Business and Governance of Transnational Labour Regimes’, currently under review. The project brings together an interdisciplinary team from Royal Holloway and Korea University, working with partners including the International Labour Organization, national and global trade unions such as Unite, TUC, ITUC, BWI, and state agencies including the Fair Work Agency.
