Social Science Impact Accelerator: Reflect and Respect: Sex Worker Rights Training for Jamaican Police

Project: Other

Project Details

Description

A British Academy project on the impact of anti-trafficking and sex tourism policy in Jamaica found that violence they experienced did not come from ‘traffickers’ as popularly assumed but clients and the public and police because they were stigmatised. Working with Caribbean Vulnerable Communities Coalition (CVC) and Jamaican Sex Work Coalition (JSWC) this project seeks to develop a short film to challenge dehumanising perceptions of sex workers held by Jamaican law enforcers and contribute to police training material.
