Project Details
Description
This project supports frontline asylum support organisations to better address issues of gender and sexuality in their services.
It has so far included a workshop in May 2024 that brought together practitioners from across the asylum support sector with researchers and an advocacy organisation. The workshop included research and practice-based presentations and a design-led discussion between participants about the specific issues faced in their organisations.
The outcomes of this discussion activity have informed the writing of a booklet to be distributed to staff and volunteers at support organisations. At a follow-up event in September we will collaborate again with practitioners and migrants themselves on improving this resource before distribution.
The project is fostering ongoing collaboration and discussion by building connections between practitioners, researchers and campaigners.
