Project Details

Description

Our impact project revolves around the collaboration with the International Growth Centre (IGC) offices in Uganda and Rwanda. The main activity that we propose is a multi-method event in Kampala co-organised by RHUL, the IGC and the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MOFPED) of Uganda, featuring presentations and round-table discussions with academics, government officials, local organisations responsible for implementing policy interventions in practice, and other third sector organisations in the region. The overarching theme of the project is the challenges that workers in low-income countries (LIC) face because of demographic trends and climate change, and particularly the disproportionate burden of these shocks on women.
