Resourcing Decarbonisation: The circular economics of climate induced innovation in mining regions

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Resourcing Decarbonisation is an interdisciplinary project (UQ–Exeter) that applies environmental economics and circular economy business model frameworks to address emerging supply gaps in critical “energy transition” minerals. The project examines how circularity, including the recovery and repurposing of mine wastes and improved material flows, can support responsible mineral sourcing while managing associated environmental, social and policy pressures. It is supported by strategic partnerships and co-investments, including the Queensland Department of Resources and related critical minerals/circular economy initiatives.
