Description
Magna Carta in Egham was a three year, Heritage Lottery Fund supported project based at Egham Museum. It included the creation of a range of educational resources for schools; a Moot for local law students at the UK Supreme Court; a KS4/5 debate day at Cumberland Lodge; a programme of community talks; collaborations with various community groups; two exhibitions, including a community co-curated exhibition; a graphic novel about Magna Carta commissioned by Heathrow Airport, which was then distributed at terminals in the summer of 2015; medieval style pennants display in Egham, Staines, at Guildford Cathedral and at Runnymede on the day of the 800th anniversary celebrations; a series of Constitutional Conventions where students from across the South East debated and drafted clauses for a modern Magna Carta to be exhibited in the Supreme Court and more (see link for project evaluation booklet).
