Study of entrained eels in Hanningfield Reservoir, Essex.
Key findings
It is clear that large numbers of large, potentially breeding female 'silver' eels are entrained into reservoirs and cannot escape in order to return to sea to breed. We would like to demonstrate that, if returned to local catchments, such eels will return to sea to breed.
